The expert should meet with the retaining attorney weeks prior to trial if possible depending on the length of the testimony and rehearse direct examination and cross examination. While the expert does not want to sound too well rehearsed, the expert must develop a good conversational interaction with the retaining attorney to maintain jury captivation.
