Alternative Alternatives: Alberta Alliance, Alberta Greens, Alberta Social Credit and the Separation Party of Alberta

These, along with the Progressive Conservatives, Liberals and the NDP, are but some of the registered political parties in Alberta that meet, discuss issues, and strive to get their message out to the Alberta Public.

Who are they? What do they stand for? Are they left? Are they right? Should we vote for them? Find out more from these speakers:

Paul Hinman of the Alberta Alliance. Paul has been active in politics since he was 16 years old working actively with the Reform Party and the Canadian Alliance. He has worked to bring the principals of these parties into Alberta. Paul serves as Vice President of Policy for the Alberta Alliance.

Mark MacGillivray of the Alberta Greens. Mark is a long time member of the Green Party. In the recent federal election he was a candidate in Calgary North Centre where he received 11% of the vote. Mark supported the Kyoto Accord and has worked with CPAWS and the Sierra Club.

Darren Popik of the Alberta Social Credit Party. Darren has been politically active since 1993. He worked in Ottawa as a parliamentary aide with the Reform Party. Darren has also worked as an English Teacher in Mexico. He was appointed Deputy Leader of the Alberta Social Credit Party in July.

Bruce Hutton of the Separation Party of Alberta. Bruce had been self-employed since 1972. He has worked as an insurance adjuster, in the RCMP, and as a professional hockey coach. He serves as leader of the Separation Party of Alberta and currently volunteers for them on a full time basis.
